Software Engineer - Embedded NMS Agent
As a member of the development team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of real-time embedded software for chassis based products. Your responsibilities will include the design and development of new features and porting of existing code bases to platforms. You will work closely with engineers and third party partners to develop new and/or modified embedded management code for new platforms.
Responsibilities will include:
* Design and implement a data collection process that will efficiently gather information from other software modules and hardware elements. The collected data will be exposed through SNMP, HTTP, XML, CLI
* Integrate third party SNMP, HTTP, XML software into products
* Design and develop product specific SNMP MIBs/XML schemas to enable monitoring and management of product unique features
* Participate in developing interoperability specifications and test systems
* Implement customer required fixes or features to products as directed
Requirements for this position include:
3+ years embedded systems programming experience with demonstrable knowledge of networking and multi-threaded coding
Knowledge of switches, routers, Ethernet, TCP/IP and networking in general is essential
Excellent C development skills and a strong track record for high quality software delivery
Skill and knowledge in designing SNMP protocol, SNMP agents, and SNMP MIBs
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Effective and mature design and specifications skills
Willing to work under pressure towards tight schedules in a startup environment
Strong teamwork skills
