Position Title : - Technical Writer

Reports To: - Manager- Technical Writing


Position Purpose - Specific Description
Brief summary of why the job exists, primary functions, and how it supports meeting corporate performance objectives. Primarily responsible for technical writing related to Hewitt services through production of documentation and training for the user community in multiple formats, including paper, online, and performance support.


Education - Bachelors degre! e in Eng lish, Computer Science, Human Factors Engineering, Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
Proven technical writing skills (6+ years)
Practical experience as a systems user


Specific Accountabilities
Accountabilities are the actions that will enable the incumbent to achieve the job's overall purpose.
' Analyze information, interview experts, write and maintain information objects. Generate Word documents. Edit, as necessary and in accordance with guidelines, to maintain the corporate style and visual content, and generate PDF documents as necessary.


' Work closely with developers, implementers and/or client facing resources to produce iterative documentation for HRO. Generate high quality final documents for distribution.
' Contribute to the documentation section of the L&D project plan. Deliver project deliverables on time and within budget.

' Create documentation and performance support strategies for implementation and ongoing maintenance for HRO projects- Benefits and MPHRO.
' Design, develop, implement, and communicate knowledge development initiatives.
' Communicate Knowledge Development strategies and processes to L&D LT membe! rs, L&D associates, and key business stakeholders on a regular basis.


' Use AuthorIT, Captivate, as well as learning@hewitt to deploy documentation.
' Create and maintain standards, processes and guidelines for technical writing for HRO L&D and the Learning Standards Committee.


' Work accurately and within tight deadlines
' Understan! d and us e quality systems and L&D departmental
procedures
' Be open to feedback.

' Excellent organization and follow up skills

' Proficiency in all MS Office products, Adobe Acrobat, ML/XHTML,
AuthorIT, Visio, PaintShop Pro
' Ability to write in US English, using internal style standards, but
with clear understanding of internationalization issues
