Altair is seeking a Technical Writer to work with a team designing and developing next generation Grid scheduling technology for PBS professional.
PBS professional is an intelligent workload management and batch queuing solution for computationally intensive compute environments. PBS professsional efficiently manages diverse workloads across local and distributed Linux - UNIX and windows - based HPC environments, maximising hardware and software utilisation and job turnaround efficiently.
Job Responsibilities
Manintain existing documentation including Administrator"s Guide, User"s Guide, and UNIX manual pages.
Track product updates and ensure that they are reflected in the documentation.
Define, implement and maintain a documentation process for in-house documentation and training materials
Fix bugs in the documentation.
Write release notes.
Work as part of team writing new documentation
Learn how the product is designed and used.
Keep customers, support and developers well- informed through good documentaion.
Write concise, accurate, useful, instructions and reference material on time.
Keep an eye on product issues and anticipate documentation updates
Qualifications:
The perfect candidate will be a results - oriented person with the following strengths:
3+ years" experience writing technical documentaion using FrameMaker
Familiarity in UNIX environment
Awareness of customer, support and development documentaion needs
Track record of delivering end - user commercial documentation schedule with excellent quality
Experience implementing new documentaion processes
Excellent writing and editing skills
Excellent communication and people skills; excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to be productive quickly in new environments
Willingness to learn difficult concepts
In addition, the following strengths are highly desired:
Ability to understand code and developers
Ability to write C and Perl code
Computer science Background
The individual selected for this position will have a Masters or Bachelors degree in related technical field along with three to five years of strong experience
